本稿は,リーマン破綻の前後各2 カ月における,中国(中国本土・香港),日本,米国株式市場の日中ボラティリティについて,各株式市場の時系列に沿った縦断的考察と,国際的株式市場との比較を通じた横断的考察の両面から分析を行ったものである。具体的には,2008 年7 月15 日から11 月28 日のサンプル期間を,リーマン破綻前後で分割し,日中ボラティリティに何らかの変化が生じたか,その変化は各株式市場で異なるか否かを検証した。実証結果から,以下の点が明らかになった。リーマン破綻発生後,すべての市場において日中ボラティリティは急激に高まったものの,中国株式市場への影響は限定的で,市場リスクは,米国,日本といった先進市場を下回っていた。また,リーマン破綻以降,日中ボラティリティの長期記憶性が強まっており,株価下落ショックがボラティリティに与える影響が弱まっていることが示された。
