大阪大学大学院工学研究科附属超精密科学研究センターの山村和也准教授、大久保雄司助教らと兵庫県立工業技術センターの柴原正文研究員、長谷朝博研究員、本田幸司研究員の研究グループは、フッ素樹脂に対して加熱しながらプラズマ処理（熱アシストプラズマ処理）することで高密着性を実現し、さらに、その表面改質寿命を1年以上持続させることに世界で初めて成功しました。これまで、プラズマ処理で樹脂の表面を改質すると、その改質寿命が短く、例えばプラズマ処理直後に接着しなければ、密着性が低下してしまうという問題がありました。今回、山村和也准教授らの研究グループは、フッ素樹脂にプラズマ処理してから1年間放置しておいた後に熱圧着しても、フッ素樹脂とゴムが強力にくっつくことを示し、改質寿命が極めて長いことを実証しました。接着工程の制限が大きく緩和されるため、フッ素樹脂の利用用途の大幅な拡大が期待されます。本研究成果は、英国科学誌「RSC Advances」に、1月20日（金）23時（日本時間）に公開されました。
