Note (General): 剛直な棒状鎖からなる高度に分岐した多糖誘導体を合成し、有機溶媒中での分子形態を散乱法、粘度法により調べた。得られた回転半径と固有粘度は、同じモル質量をもつ線状鎖試料よりもはるかに小さいことが分かった。また、この多分岐試料をシリカ粒子に担持させたキラルカラムは多くの低分子ラセミ化合物に対してキラル分離能を持つことが確認された。そのキラル分離能が線状鎖とは異なることから、分岐構造が分子認識に影響を与えることも明らかにされた。多分岐構造により、立体構造が制限され剛直ならせん構造にひずみを生ずるためであると考えられる。
