聾学校児童生徒の語彙の獲得状況は約3歳の遅滞が認められ,中学部段階では9歳レベルに達するが,その後は漸増傾向が示された。また,「生き物」に関する階層的概念の獲得は小学校児童に比較して,遅滞する傾向が認められたが,特に「生き物」という最上位の抽象的な概念獲得が遅滞していた。また,聾学校児童生徒および小学校児童ともに,帰納的推論の獲得が認められる条件は同様であった。より上位の概念に関する一般帰納においては前提の典型性が高いほど,また,結論の特殊性が高いほど,また,等水準の概念に関する特殊帰納においては前提と結論の類似性が高いほど,帰納的推論が促される傾向にあった。混合帰納ではより事例が多い方が帰納的推論が促されていた。この混合帰納においては聾学校小学部第1学年から第6学年段階および小学校児童の低学年段階から中学学年段階にかけての獲得傾向が示されていた。今後は聾学校児童生徒の帰納的推論が促されやすい条件を整えて,概念的知識の獲得を促していくことが重要であると考えられた。
