アイデンティティとは自分が変化しても同一であると自覚しそれが社会の定義と合っているとする感覚をいう。このようなアイデンティティがどのように構築されていくのかを時間的展望の視点から検討した。時間的展望とは過去・現在・未来に対する見解の総体をいう。青年期から成人期にかけての縦断研究の結果、未来指向がアイデンティティ形成を促すことを見いだした。今後も縦断研究を継続し中年期の検討も求められる。
Identity is described as awareness of selfsameness and continuity of one's meaning, which he or she feels as defined by society. This study examines how we construct identity in terms of time perspective. Time perspective refers to integration of the past, the present, and the future. The longitudinal research showed that future orientation might cause identity development in transition into adulthood. Further longitudinal research in middle age should be taken.
