L.コールバーグが提唱したジャスト・コミュニティにおける授業の役割を解明することを目的に、新社会科テキストとして知られるホルト社会科の第二版を分析した。歴史学テキストでは、歴史の中にみられる道徳的価値の現代的意味を考えさせる活動と、歴史的事象を題材とする道徳的ディレンマの討論とが計画されていた。こうした活動は、生徒が実生活で道徳的にふるまえるよう、社会的認知の変容と道徳的推論の発達とを促すことができると考えられる。
In this research, I analyzed the second education of the Holt Social Studies Curriculum as a part of explaining the role of classes in L. Kohlberg's Just Community. In history textbook, the activities for reflecting about whether or not moral values from past societies are of significance for students' own lives and the moral dilemma discussing students' social cognition and moral reasoning that they could take moral actions in their real lives.
