• Note (General): 本稿はシスコアカデミー関連授業科目としての「ネットワーキング1」教育の現状について述べるものである。2000年4月の新学期より「ネットワーキング1」の通年科目として、コンピュータ・ネットワークに関する授業が提供されている。授業で用いられているテキストはシスコシステムズ株式会社によって編纂され提供された電子テキストである。これは、いわゆるe-learningテキストであり、学生は教室に備え付けのＰＣ端末で電子テキストを開き講師の説明を聞きながら参照することも出来るし、適当な空き時間で自習することも出来る。また、教師は授業中に、このテキストを液晶プロジェクタでスクリーンに映し出すことができるので、教材の一部としても活用している。本稿ではルータやハブやケーブルの特性を記述すると共に構造図を豊富に取り入れている。ルータ実習例としての接続図も掲載している。現在２０名余の学生が受講していて、学部学科の境界を越えて、いろいろな学生が集まっているが、熱心な学生が多い。実習ではRJ-45ジャック結合ケーブル作り実習やシリアルやイーサネットケーブルを用いてのルータ接続配線実習を行うが、これについても述べている。設定されたルータ間の通信実験は重要かつ必須であり、失敗するケースが多いにも拘わらず、学生は実習を楽しんでいる。実習における資材の使い方や器具の取り扱い方法についても本稿で記述してある。実習における悩みは適切な専用の実習室がないことである｡実習室の整備も一つの課題であろう｡この科目が学生にとってCCNA資格取得への道として役立つことを願っている。@@@This article describes the present condition of "Networking 1" education as a subject related to Cisco Network Academy. Starting from new semester of April of 2000, a new subject is opened for those who want to study computer network technology. In the education, electronic textbook edited by Cisco Systems, Inc. is used. This textbook is so-called e-learning textbook stored in the computer disk system, student can open the book through PC terminal in the classroom. Students can listen to the teacher's lecture referring to the contents of textbook shown on the PC terminal display and also they are able to study by themselves in need. The teacher in class, for explanation, can make good use of the electronic textbook as a part of teaching materials because the content of the textbook can be reflected to the screen with liquid crystal projector. This manuscript contains the fundamental information about specification of routers, hubs and cables as well as many useful figures of equipments. Router connection diagrams are shown as wiring examples. Approximate 20 eager students have been gathering beyond their different majors, faculty and department. Most of them are earnest and diligent. Laboratory hours include RJ-45 jack and cable attachment practice and router setting with serial and ethernet cable. Communication test between set routers are important and indispensable experiments. These practices and experiments are very popular among the students although they encounter the frequent troubles and difficulties. About what and how to use materials and equipments for the practice are explained in this manuscript. An urgent requirement in the subject is to secure the training room for exclusive use. We hope this subject helps students to lead obtaining the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) qualification certificate in the near future.
