平安後期の後朱雀天皇のもとには、東宮時代を含めて五人のキサキがいた。キサキたちが妍を競ったであろう後朱雀朝の文化圏はどのようなものだったのか。後朱雀天皇やキサキたち、中でも、最後に入内した女御延子に注目して調査・考察した。その結果、諸資料から天皇はもちろんのこと、印象薄いと思われる延子の風雅の様もみてとれた。今回の調査により、後朱雀朝における文化・文学的営為や、延子文化圏の存在感を確認することができた。
