- 地域における生涯学習推進の実態を把握するため、我々は二つの調査を実施した。一つは「市区町村の社会教育事業に関する調査」、いま一つは「生涯学習の振興に係る市町村への援助・指導に関する調査」(都道府県調査)である。前者は、地域の生涯学習を推進するうえでの基本的な単位である市町村レベル(東京都23区を含む)に焦点をあて、その実態と課題を社会教育行政をとおして把握するための調査である。後者は、そのような市町村レベルでの生涯学習推進に対し、都道府県が行なっている援助・指導を知ることを目的としている。本章の各節の構成は次のとおりである。まず、本章の1ではこれらの調査の概要を述べる。2では、「市区町村の社会教育事業に関する調査」のうち選択肢方式、3～4では自由記述方式の質問に対する回答結果を述べる(図1の(注2)参照)。最後に5では、「生涯学習の振興に係る市町村への援助・指導に関する調査」の結果を述べる
