- 小学校・中学校及び高等学校における教科等の構成や各教科等のカリキュラムの課題を把握するとともに、我が国における教科構成の歴史的変遷や諸外国のカリキュラム構成の動向等について調査・分析することにより、今後における教育課程の改善並びに将来における教科等の構成の在り方に関する基礎資料を得ることを目的とする。○研究領域を、(1)諸外国の教育課程の基準等の調査、(2)我が国の教育課程の歴史的変遷の整理、(3)教育実践としての教育課程の開発事例の分析、の３領域に区分し、それぞれ調査研究を進めてきた。○諸外国の教育課程の基準に関する調査については、アメリカ、イギリス、フランス、ドイツ、中国、韓国、シンガポール、台湾の教育課程を対象に、教育課程の基準、各教科等の教育課程上の位置づけ、構成、内容、我が国と比較した特色等について整理した。調査結果については、各教科等別及び国別にとりまとめた。○我が国の各教科等のカリキュラムの歴史的変遷について、各教科等の特質に応じ、目標、内容等の変遷の内容や背景等について調査・分析を行った。○教育実践としての教育課程の開発動向を分析する目的で、文部科学省研究開発学校における教育課程の研究開発の内容等を分析整理した。研究開発の事例は、教育課程の領域・教科等も含めた再編、一部の教科等の再編、新教科等の追加による再編等に区分できることが明らかになった。
