- 本報告書では、まずアステカ族の教育の全体像、その人間観、教育観を概観するたあに、メキシコの教育史の本のなかから「アステカ族の教育」を記述した部分を紹介する。この本は、メキシコの師範学校用教育史教科書として編集されたものであり、今日のメキシコにおいて、自国の教育史のルーツのひとっともいえるアステカ族の教育の遺産がどのように認識されており、通史的なメキシコ教育史のなかにどのように位置づけられているかを知るうえでも興味ぶかいものがある。っぎに、メキシコ国立自治大学の歴史・人類学教授ロペス・アウスティン博士が編集した、『古代アステカ教育関係史料集』(L6pezAustinA.，LaEducaci6ndelosAntiguosNahuas1，2.1985)の主要部分を翻訳、紹介する。この史料集は、16世紀初頭の征服、植民地化の初期の段階おいて、まだそれほど破壊されていないインディオ文明に直接的に接触したスペイン人たちがその文明について書きしるした記録や書簡、さらにインディオたち自身が書き残した資料(アステカ族の独特な記録法である絵文書、インディオ言語のローマ字表記やスペイン語習得によるみずからの歴史の記録)など膨大な資料のなかから、当時のインディオの教育に関連する記述部分をひろいだして集成したものであり、アステカ族の教育に関する一次史料に直接的かっ効率的にアクセスするのにきわめて有用なものである。05610239
