Note (General): 本遺跡は、雁峰山系南東麓の茶臼山斜面に形成された、中世～近世の集落遺跡である。その開発は、平安時代末期に遡り、竪穴状遺構や掘立柱建物で構成される。その建物群は約10m四方の小さな範囲にまとまるものがほとんどである。出土遺物は山茶碗と土師器皿が大半を占め、一部灰釉陶器や戦国時代の陶器や土師器鍋がある。また時代は異なるが石鏃や磨製石斧、押型文土器などの縄文時代の遺物も出土していることから、時期の特定できる遺構はあまりないが当該期にも集落として利用されていたと考えられる。なお中世の開発は、荘園の所在を示す地名や神社が付近に存在することから、それに関連するものと考えられる。
