Note (General): 長野北浦遺跡・塔の越遺跡の調査によって、古代に関しては南北方向に大溝が掘削されてエリアを画し、そのなかに竪穴建物群や掘立柱建物群が集塊状に存在している様子を把握することができ、一部は国府に関連する可能性が高い。興味深いのは、8 世紀代まではそれら建物群が先行して造営された墳墓群とともに一つの景観を構成している点である。4 世紀に始まり6 世紀まで続く墳墓群の存在は、この地域が濃尾平野における中心地の一つであったことを示すのであり、その西方に尾張国府（衙）が位置している点は重要である。三宅川に沿う自然堤防が安定した高度を保ち、居住環境として他に優越していることは確かであり、尾張国府を含めた濃尾平野における古代史像を考える上で重要な資料を提供した。
