Note (General): [大竹西遺跡　第3次要約] 第1面では、平安時代後期から鎌倉時代前期のほぼ等間隔に並ぶ南北方向の畦畔で区画された水田を検出した。この水田は条里に伴うもので、本調査地一帯は生産域であったことが判明した。第2面では、古墳時代中期の落ち込み内で、列を成す杭を確認した。何らかの施設が存在していたと推測できる。第3面では、弥生時代後期後半の南西から北東方向の溝を、第4面では、弥生時代後期前半の同方向の溝を検出した。3・4面で検出した溝は、環濠の可能性が考えられる。第5面では、弥生時代後期初頭の土坑から鉄剣が出土した。第6面では、西部で弥生時代後期初頭の居住域を、東部で同時期の河川を検出した。第7面では、縄文時代晩期から弥生時代中期末まで機能していた河川を検出した。この河川は、埋没の過程が追え、埋没した後、自然堤防が形成され、この堤防上に弥生時代後期の居住域を構築している環境であったことが判明した。
