Note (General): 遠見塚古墳の西に隣接する敷地内での調査である。調査対象となる面積のほとんどが小学校校舎の建設に伴い、遺構面が削平されていたが、古墳時代と古代から中世にいたる2時期の遺構面が部分的に確認された。　出土した弥生土器は弥生時代中期の桝形囲式と後期の天王山式と考えられ、石器も出土した。古墳時代の土器は、前・中期にあたる塩釜式期から南小泉式期にかけての土師器類で、砥石や石製模造品（剣・鏡)なども出土した。遺構は、竪穴住居跡や溝跡などが確認された。　古代から中世の遺物は少ないが、当該期の遺構面では、竪穴住居跡や掘立柱建物跡、柱穴列が確認された。
