本遺跡は、平安時代後期から始まり、12世紀～13世紀前半に推定される土石流の後に、掘立柱建物・溝・土坑からなる居住域が鎌倉時代から室町時代まで続き、その後史跡欠下城跡のある丘陵との境界となる区画溝が確認できた。鎌倉時代には調査区の一部で墓域も形成された。新城地域の寺院跡と城館跡との関係を解明する上で...
