Notes on use

Note (General)：

室津は古代以降の瀬戸内海航路の主要港湾である。発掘調査は駐在所の庁舎新築工事に起因し、集落内の調査としては今回が最初となる。調査の結果、埋甕遺構、土壙墓、石列などの遺構を検出した。また遺物包含層からは中世を主体とした遺物が大量に出土し、中世以降の港湾都市の繁栄を明らかにする資料となった。
