VII・V・III層の上面からそれぞれ遺構を検出した。　VII層からは縄文時代後期前葉（南境式期）、V層からは同じく後期前葉と一部晩期中葉（大洞C2式期）の遺構が見つかった。両層とも、環状集石や配石、埋設土器などが検出されており、ここが祭祀の場として利用されていたことがわかる。特徴的な遺物として、大量に出土した土偶（326点）や土製円盤（7,186点）のほか、イノシシなどの動物・土笛・鐸・キノコ・スプーン・腕輪形土製品、耳飾り、ヒスイ製垂飾などが出土している。　III層からは古墳時代前期と奈良・平安時代の遺構が見つかっている。古墳時代では、塩釜式期の集落跡が見つかっており、体部上半に櫛描文による加飾が施された土師器壺などが出土している。奈良・平安時代では、8世紀後半と9世紀中～後葉の2時期の集落跡が見つかっている。平安時代の遺物として墨書土器が15点出土しており、判読できる文字のうち、もっとも多いのは「（表記できず）」（「岡」の異体字）で「（表記できず） □」と二文字で表記される例が多い。ほかに１点だけであるが「得」の文字がある。また、9 世紀代の集落が廃絶したのち、畑跡の可能性が想定される小溝状遺構群が調査区のほぼ全域に展開することから、その後は生産域として利用されたと考えられる。
