Note (General): 富沢遺跡は名取川及び広瀬川によって形成された沖積平野の後背湿地に立地する。調査の結果、基本層2・3a・3b層、9層を水田土壌とする水田跡と、基本層3a層、4層、9層、10層上面で溝跡と自然流路跡を検出した。周辺調査区の基本層序との対応関係から、確認された水田跡の時期は古代〜近世のものと、弥生時代中期頃のものと考えられる。　基本層23層の調査では、磨石が出土したことから縄文時代早期の遺物包含層と考えられる。　旧石器時代の遺物を包含する層は確認できなかった。
