- 出版タイプ： NA園生貝塚は、南北径135ｍ・東西径110ｍの環状貝塚で、イボキサゴ・オキアサリを主体としている。今回の調査は、千葉大学が行った調査トレンチの再発掘。第３トレンチでは縄文時代晩期前半と思われるハマグリ主体の貝層を検出。第４トレンチでは、水平堆積の堀之内式期の貝層の上に縄文時代後期後半～晩期前半の貝層が貝塚の外側に向かって傾斜して堆積。堀之内式期の貝層は竪穴住居跡の覆土の可能性がある。第６トレンチでは、南壁に炉跡を検出。北壁では貝塚の内側に傾斜する貝層を検出。この層から切り込んだ貯蔵穴を検出、貝層下の土層は竪穴住居跡の覆土の可能性がある。第７トレンチでは、最上層にオキアサリ・ハマグリを主体とする縄文時代後期後半貝層が形成される。中層からは、イボキサゴの粉砕層が検出され、中に炭化物の層が形成される。貝層中からは、堀之内２式と加曽利Ｂ式土器が出土した。貝層下には黒褐色土と、柱穴状のピットが検出され、竪穴住居跡の存在する可能性がある。
