Note (General): 市ノ原遺跡（第５地点）ではナイフ形石器文化期のブロック４か所と細石器文化期のブロックが１か所確認され，特にナイフ形石器文化期のものでは良好な接合資料が得られた。ブロック内にナイフ形石器や台形石器などの石器もあることから，石器製作に伴うものと考えられ，興味深い。縄文時代早要約期には落し穴がまとまって検出されたほか，扁平に摂理する安山岩製の打製石斧が折損品を含めて相当個数出土している。また，打製石斧４点からなる石斧の集積のほか，三角壔形の土製品及び石製品や大洞式系の浅鉢形土器の小片などが出土していることから，東北地方あるいは北陸地方との直接的あるいは間接的な交流の証の可能性があるものとして興味深い。古代以降，特に中世から近世・近代と推定される多数の道跡の検出は，当地が交通の頻繁な地域として重要な位置を占めていたことが考えられることから，「市」を冠する地名とも相まって興味深い。
