Note (General): 堀越甲真木Ｂ遺跡は、赤城山南麓の南向きの標高165ｍ前後の舌状台地に位置し、ナイフ形石器や台形石器、スクレーパー類などを主要利器として、石刃技術を剥片生産技術の技術基盤に持つ石器群で、11ヶ所の石器集中区を形成しており、接合関係のあり方から、複数回の占有の可能性があり、一か所の集中区には炉跡が残されていた可能性がある。　石器群は、黒曜石による石刃技術による石刃をナイフ形石器の主要石材として使用しながら、地元石材で石刃や剥片を生産し、石器群の技術構造の機能要件を維持し、チャート等を補完的に備え、ナイフ形石器を主体とした石器群を維持・運用する技術構造、システムの運用を基本とする。黒曜石を主要素材として石刃技術と石器技術の適用によりナイフ形石器や二次加工石器を生産する技術構造の石器群を「堀越甲真木Ｂ石刃技術石器群」として定義づけが可能と考え、さらに赤城山南麓遺跡群の特徴である黒色安山岩と黒色頁岩という地元石材を素材として、分割素材の石核使用で特徴づけられる石刃技術を「赤城山南麓型石刃技術」として地域的な技術として定義、位置づけが可能と考える。
