盛岡城跡は，南部信直の手により慶長年間に築城が開始され，寛永10 年(1633) に南部重直が居城と定めて以来，明治維新まで盛岡藩南部氏の居城として機能した。城郭の基本構成は，内曲輪を旧北上川と中津川の合流点に突出した小丘陵に配し，内曲輸の北側を囲むように水堀と土塁を巡らせて外曲輪としさらに外側に水...
