Note (General): 松本城下町跡念来寺は、松本市中央４丁目に所在する寺院址である。17世紀前半に開山されたと伝えられ、明治３年（1870）頃に廃仏毀釈政策により廃寺された。寺域が明確でないため、本調査では、建物建設地のうち遺跡範囲内に該当する部分を推定し、調査区とした。旧念来寺域の南東隅部にあたる。　近世の遺構検出面は、近代の攪乱等により、およそ５割が既に失われていた。残存部には寺院に関わる建物等の痕跡や遺物は検出されなかったが、調査区北西部で土坑・ピット・窪地状遺構を確認し、南東部では暗渠排水遺構を確認した。このうち窪地状遺構は、複数の絵図に描かれている水路の一部であった可能性が高い。各遺構の時期は明確でないが、出土遺物は17世紀後半から19世紀中頃で、18世紀前半を中心としている。
