Note (General): [札苅６遺跡要約] 札苅６遺跡は、木古内町市街地の北東約４kmに位置する。標高約17〜20mの海成段丘上および標高約20〜24mの丘陵斜面（崖錐地形）に立地し、東西に小沢がある。調査の結果、縄文中期半ばと後期前葉の集落跡を確認した。　遺構は、調査区西側を主体に分布し、竪穴住居跡１３軒、土坑71基、焼土20か所などが検出された。縄文中期半ばの竪穴住居は、長径２〜３mの楕円形で掘り込みが深く、縄文後期前葉のものは、径４〜５mの円形で掘り込みが浅い。総じて、地床炉は確認できるが、柱穴は不明瞭である。土坑は径60cm〜100cmの円形で、深さが50cm前後の定型的なものが多い。覆土の上位に焼土を伴うものが多数みられる。また、北海道式石冠などの礫石器や大型の礫を内包するものも複数ある。土坑の時期は、縄文前期から晩期であるが、中期半ばが主体とみられる。　遺物は、土器、石器等約20万点が出土した。土器は縄文前期から晩期、特に中期半ばと後期前葉のものが多く出土している。石器の中では特に扁平打製石器が数多く出土している。また、土製品では縄文中期の土偶、石製品では三脚石器のほか、大珠が出土した・
