Note (General): [トーサムポロ湖周辺竪穴群要約] トーサムポロ湖周辺竪穴群は、根室半島東部にあるトーサムポロ湖周辺に位置する竪穴群である。過去に東京教育大学（現筑波大学）、北地文化研究会等による学術調査が断続的に行われている。今回の調査は、平成21から23（2009から2011）年度に実施したもので、オホーツク海につながる半島状に突き出た湖口の西側（Ａ地区）と東側（Ｂ地区）の2か所を対象とした。　Ａ地区は，１層でアイヌ文化期の貝塚・建物跡・柱穴・杭穴・灰集中等からなる集落跡を検出した。３層では縄文時代及びオホーツク文化期の竪穴住居跡・土坑墓・土坑・礫集中・骨片集中などを検出した。3層の遺構のほとんどがオホーツク文化期である。5層では、縄文時代早期の竪穴住居跡を検出した。遺物は、オホーツク式土器及び縄文時代晩期の土器が多く、他に石器、金属製品、骨角器が出土している。また、貝類、獣骨、魚骨などの動物遺存体が多量に出土した。Ｂ地区は、３層で竪穴住居跡、土坑、礫集中、フレイク集中を検出した。時期は多くが縄文時代前期前半押型文尖底土器の時期である。遺物も縄文時代前期前半のものが多く、他に縄文時代早期、中期から後期のものが少数みられる。
