Note (General): 松本城下町跡伊勢町は、経済の中心である本町から西の飛騨国に向かう野麦街道沿いに発展した町で、商家の他、鍛冶屋等の職人が多く住む町屋の跡が残る。　今回の調査では町屋跡に関わる火災の跡や生活面を3面、中世以前の生活面を1面の計4面を確認した。Ⅰ険は、調査区の特に北半で広範囲に火災層が認められた。「安政六稔　未六月下旬　製之」と刻印された陶器（涼炉）片が見つかったことから、幕末期以降の火災の跡と推測できる。北東端では鍛冶炉跡3基が検出された。Ⅱ検はⅠ険の火災を受けた生活面であることから、同時期に帰属される。Ⅲ検は出土遺物から18世紀末頃の生活面と考えられ、鉄滓を大量に含んだ鋳造に関連する廃棄土坑が複数基見つかった。地山面のⅣ検では、18基の土坑を検出したが、出土遺物は無く帰属時期は不明である。
