Note (General): 松本城南・西外堀復元事業に伴う保存目的のための範囲・内容確認の試掘調査を実施した。外堀土塁（二の丸側）の位置を確認し、土塁裾部が土坡から石垣に改修された可能性が高いことを捉えた。また、松本城二の丸を構築する際の大規模な整地（地業層）を捉え、傾斜版築状の斜めに整地されていたことが判明した。外堀土塁や二の丸構築土の下層からは、松本城築城前の整地面や礎石を確認した。　調査で発見された外堀土塁の位置は、「享保十三年秋改松本城下絵図」をもとに調査区を設定したもので、この絵図がかなり正確であることが判明した。
