Note (General): 腹田Ｂ遺跡は白河市大信地区に所在し、隈戸川流域の河岸段丘上に位置する遺跡である。今回の2次調査区は1次調査区に南接する地区であり、1290\0について調査を実施した。　検出された遺構は、主に古代と近世に大別される。古代の遺構は、4号住居跡が認められる。1辺3.5m程の小型の竪穴住居跡であり、堆積土には焼土塊や炭化物を多量に含むことから焼失家屋である。1次調査区にも2軒の奈良時代の竪穴住居が確認されており、共に焼失家屋である。また、この3軒の竪穴住居跡は出土遺物は非常に稀薄であることから、廃絶時に焼却遺棄された可能性が高く、ほぼ同時に存在したものと思われる。　近世の遺構は、2基の墓を確認した。ともに鉄鍋を伴ういわゆる「鍋被り葬墓」である。この鍋被り葬墓については、従来から祓い清める力が期待された鉄鍋を被葬者の頭に被せることで、通常と異なる「異常な死」が人々に災いを及ぼすのを防ごうとしたものと推測されている。また、調査区内東側には多数の小穴群も分布しており、掘立柱建物跡などの構築物の存在も考慮できる。
