Note (General): ・南狼沢遺跡は丘陵上に立地する遺跡で、調査範囲は小規模な谷を挟む北区・南区からなる。南区からは縄文時代の土坑１基、北区では縄文時代の遺物包含層を確認した。・南狼沢Ａ遺跡は段丘上の平坦面に立地する遺跡で、平安時代の竪穴住居跡・掘立柱建物跡・土坑を確認した。竪穴住居跡は小型で工房址かと思われる。掘立柱建物跡は大型建物跡と小型建物跡に大別でき、計画的に配置されていた。建物跡近隣の土坑は廃棄坑とされていた。・南狼沢Ｂ遺跡は丘陵上に立地する遺跡である。縄文時代では、中期末葉に位置づけられる土器埋設石囲炉を有する竪穴住居跡のほか、貯蔵穴、墓坑、落し穴などを確認した。平安時代では木炭窯跡２基を確認した。調査区外には鉄滓の散布が認められ、製鉄遺跡の一部を構成すると考えられる。その他に旧石器時代の彫器も出土している。
