Note (General): [森川６遺跡要約] 遺跡は、渡島半島の中央部にある森町の内浦湾に面する海岸線から約2.5km内陸の台地斜面に位置する。調査の結果、縄文時代の遺構はなかったが、調査区を約2mの厚さで覆う駒ヶ岳火山灰d層（1640年降下）の下から約1000平方メートルの範囲で畑跡が検出された。畑の上面では畝立ての痕跡は崩れて平坦になっており、1640年時点では廃棄されてから時間が経過したものである。畑の時期は、耕作土上面には自然堆積層がみられないことから、16世紀末から17世紀前半とみられる。
