Note (General): 史跡東谷風穴蚕種貯蔵所跡の主要な遺構である1号風穴の、冷気の吹き出し口側と推定される南端部を対象にして、移動式小型クレーンを使い風穴内部に落ちている礫を搬出し、南端部の底部を検出した。その結果、地下2階の底面の壁際には角材による土台が巡り、南面には地下１階の床を支える梁材が渡され、５本の柱により支持されていることが判明した。また、底部上面の通路部分は板材によるスノコ状であった。崩落礫の間からは、生活廃材とともに、絹笠明神像の上半身部や錠前、ヤスリ、カスガイ、ブリキ製容器、同蓋等が検出された。絹笠明神像は鋳込み成形いより製作されており、製作地とともに、遺構内にもたらされた経緯、風穴との関係など、今後検討が必要である。
