柴山潟を西に望む台地上に展開する集落遺跡であり、主体となる時代は飛鳥時代、奈良時代、室町～戦国時代である。飛鳥時代の竪穴建物、掘立柱建物を検出し、竪穴建物から、石製紡錘車が出土した。 　奈良時代の掘立柱建物は10数棟を数え、なかには桁行10mを超える大型のものもあり、当時の中核的集落と想定される。竪...
