Note (General): 今回の調査地は大坂城三の丸跡にあたり、上町台地上と西に開口する開析谷の北辺部に位置する。豊臣前期の遺構面は開析谷の北辺部で粘土取り穴や、調査区の南に展開すると考えられる集落域に関連する導水施設を検出した。豊臣後期の遺構面では大名屋敷の北辺を示す柵列や、埋甕を伴う整地面を検出した。また、遺物は国産陶器や青花、青白磁をはじめ多数の土器や瓦、漆器椀や箸、下駄などの木製品、石製硯や石臼、さらに小刀柄や笄といった金属製品など多岐にわたる。　近世には、徳川氏による大坂城の再築が行われ、開析谷は完全に埋められて平坦面となり、調査地周辺は空閑地として利用されていたが、18世紀後半に属する東西方向にはしる溝や、多量の陶磁器類が捨てられた土坑などを検出した。特筆すべき点として、堀の中から大坂城再築に伴い豊後国岡藩中川久盛によって集められた刻印石19点を含む石垣材の残石26点が、調査地周辺で保管された後、18世紀後半に堀を埋め戻す際に廃棄されたことが挙げられる。
