Note (General): 今回の調査では、弥生時代に形成された流路状の谷とその周囲に展開する3箇所の微高地上に古代および古代末から中世の集落域を検出した。まず、古代の集落域では区画溝で囲まれた中に正方位を主軸にもつ掘立柱建物群と、その周辺に西に頭位をもつ木棺墓や土壙墓が検出された。また、集落域の縁辺部では古代の遺物を伴う井戸が検出された。さらに、調査地の近隣に所在する七尾瓦窯で焼成された瓦片が出土した土坑も検出した。　一方、古代末から中世の集落域においては、古代との建物とは方向を違えて掘立柱建物や木棺墓並びに土壙墓が検出された。　谷部においても弥生土器をはじめ、古墳時代から中世にかけての遺物が出土したことから、調査地の周辺に弥生時代や古墳時代の遺構の存在が推察された。　以上、微高地上において古代および古代末から中世の2時期の集落が、建物の方向を違える形で検出されたことは、土地利用に大きな変化があったことを窺わせる資料となった。
