Note (General): 今回の調査は、大阪府総務部庁舎周辺整備課が進めている、府庁舎本館耐震改修工事に伴い、発掘調査を実施し、府庁舎本館の地下に存在する埋蔵文化財の記録を作成することを目的としたものである。調査方法は、工事により府庁舎本館の地下で掘削された土砂内から人力で遺物を取り上げるというかたちをとった。この遺物取り上げにより、コンテナ180箱に及ぶ遺物を発見した。内訳は、瓦類を中心に豊臣期～江戸期の遺物が中心であるが、既往の調査と比較すると、陶磁器類の出土量は少ない傾向である。古墳時代～古代の遺物（特に須恵器）の出土量が比較的多く、完形に近いものもみられる。　細かい土層の観察や遺構検出などは、工事の関係でできなかったが、遺物の検出状況から、遺構が密集しているとは考えられない。従来から指摘されている、谷地形がちょうど府庁舎本館部分の地下を走っていることと関係があるものと考えられる。今後、谷地形の埋没時期を考えるうえで良好な資料を得ることができたものといえる。
