Note (General): 恒武西宮遺跡は、天竜川の堆積作用によって形成された沖積平野の中でも東を南流する豊田川、西を南流する安間川に挟まれた微高地に位置する遺跡である。株式会社スズケイの物流センター新築に伴って行われた試掘確認調査（17次）において、遺物とともに遺構の存在が確認されたことから記録保存を目的とした本発掘調査（21次）を実施するに至った。　今回の調査により、古墳時代後期の遺構と豊富な遺物が出土した。この時期の遺構として並行する3条の東西溝を確認した。ここから、石製模造品・耳環・土師器・須恵器が出土した。これらの溝は過去の調査においても確認している。また、これらの溝に先行する1条の南北溝を確認した。この溝から遺物の出土はなかったが、並行する土坑から有稜高坏が出土することから古墳時代前期にまで遡る可能性がある。
