Note (General): 11-3調査では、８～９世紀に建てられた倉庫、古墳時代中期（5世紀中頃～後半）の井戸・土坑、弥生時代後期末（3世紀前半）の竪穴建物を検出した。　12-2調査では、底に曲物をもつ古代の井戸を検出した。古墳時代の遺構面では、掘立柱建物の柱穴と考えられるピットや竪穴建物の可能性をもつ遺構などを検出した。古代から古墳時代にかけての遺物が特に多く出土した。　明和池遺跡は、これまであまり発掘調査の機会に恵まれず、遺跡の様相については不明な部分が多かった。しかし、今回の調査で、同遺跡で中心となる時代と各時代における土地利用の様相が、ある程度明らかになったといえる。
