Note (General): 今回の太井遺跡09-1調査区は、遺跡西端部分の調査で、過去に（財）大阪文化財センターにより行われた阪和自動車道部分調査（『太井遺跡』）K地区南側に位置する。西除川谷底平野部分であり、中世以降になり積極的な活動痕跡が見られるようになる。　一方の、余部日置荘遺跡09-1調査区は、遺跡西部の中位段丘面上、過去に（財）大阪文化財センターにより行われた阪和自動車道部分調査（『日置荘遺跡』）J地区南側に位置する。調査では、古代（8世紀頃）以降の中位段丘面上開発の変遷を追うことができた。遺跡内で多数確認されている轍が、今回の調査でも確認でき、西に隣接する谷地形埋没にかかわると推測される。また、この谷地形埋没と関連すると思われる。8世紀頃の用水路が確認でき、延長は上記調査J地区の溝に連続する。溝は9世紀には埋没し、隣接調査地では10世紀前後の集落も確認されているが、今回の調査地では以後しばらくの様相が不明である。その後、遺跡内では11世紀頃から遺構・遺物とも目立ち始め、13世紀の爆発的増加となる。今回の調査では、この13世紀以降の開発に伴うと思われる遺構が確認できた。以後は、連続的に耕作が行われていたと推測される。
