Note (General): [柳下遺跡要約] 柳下遺跡は、中世中期から近世初頭までの時期に営まれた集落跡であると考えられる。３×２間、面積30〜60平米程度の主屋を中心に、４期にわたって屋敷群が形成されたと見られる。また、中世後期に形成された屋敷群では、建物の傍らに屋敷墓が設けられた形跡がある。主屋の規模や屋敷墓が付属していることから、自立的農民層の居住域であると考えられる。出土遺物はほとんどが土師器で、次いで瓦質土器が多い。輸入磁器は少なく破片が多い。今回の調査に於いて、厚狭川左岸地域、特に厚狭盆地北東端地域の中世から近世の様子を知る手がかりを得た。 [今市遺跡要約] 今市遺跡は、近世から近代初頭にかけての時期に営まれた集落跡であると考えられる。後世の開発による削平を受け、全容は明確にはつかめないが、井戸や土坑墓をもつ比較的規模の大きな集落の一部である可能性もある。また、縁辺部の遺物遺物包含層からは弥生土器が検出されていることから、東側に広がる丘陵地には、弥生時代の集落の存在が期待される。今回の調査に於いて、厚狭川左岸地域、特に厚狭盆地北東端地域の中世から近世の様子を知る手がかりを得た。
