Note (General): [横壁中村遺跡要約] 吾妻川右岸段丘上に位置する、縄文時代から近世までの複合遺跡。検出された遺構のうち、縄文時代を中心に近世に至までの土坑、1,006基について報告している。中世以降の土坑には、寛永通寶を銭緡状に収めた曲物が出土した土坑、かわらけや獣骨が出土した土坑などがある。他にも、土坑より墓坑や陥穴、竪穴遺構などを認定し報告している。注目される縄文時代の遺物として、焼成前に切断された壺形土器や釣手土器、赤色塗彩された土器や翡翠大珠などがある。
