- 出版タイプ： NA[石川1遺跡 要約] 遺跡は、JR函館駅の北方6.5km、石川右岸、標高30〜50mの段丘面に位置している。サイベ沢遺跡群のある桔梗町や西桔梗遺跡群のある西桔梗町に近い場所である。 13軒の住居の内1軒は縄文早期の時期で12軒は中期中葉のものである。壁際に周溝が見られるものもある。6基のフラスコ状ピットは中期中葉もので、底面中央に小ピットがあり比較的小型で遺物量の少ないもの深さ2m前後で遺物出土量の多いものに分けられる。遺物総数は43,608点で、そのうち縄文時代以降の土器・石器などは34，827点、旧石器時代の石器類は8,781点である。土器の94％が中期の土器、3％が早期の土器で、残りがそれ以外の時期の土器である。縄文時代以降の石器の総数は582点で、その47％が剥片石器である。旧石器時代の主な石材は頁岩、メノウ質頁岩、黒曜石、メノウの4種類で、礫石器には緑色泥岩、安山岩、砂岩などがみられる。
