日枝神社遺跡は､東武東上線霞ヶ関駅の北方約700mに所在し､小畔川と入間川に挟まれた川越台地の北部に位置する｡調査地点の標高は､約20mである｡ 　発掘調査は､平成8年度の川越市による調査に次いで第2次調査にあたり､116m2という狭い範囲ながら竪穴住居跡1軒､溝1条のほか土壌1基･ピット12基を検...
