Note (General): [手代森遺跡要約] 縄文時代の遺構・遺物は前期と晩期に大別される。前期はピットの一部のみである。晩期の遺構は自然堤防上にあり、遺構の上を厚い遺物包含層が覆っている。晩期の遺構群は前葉と中葉に大別される。自然堤防の上流寄りに広場的な空間があり、自然の円礫と共に多くの遺物が集積されている。遺物は土偶など祭祀に関係するものが多くこの広場で長期間にわたって祭祀が行われたようである。集積された遺物は大沢川の氾濫により流されて広がり厚い遺物包含層を形成する。遺物は900個体の土器をはじめ、中空大型遮光器土偶（重文）と共に、動物型土製品等多くの土製品が出土している。
