興聖寺城跡は、安貞 2 年(1228)、佐野国綱が築いた城館で、東西 116 m、南北 133 mの ほぼ方形の土塁と、その外側(西側以外)に堀跡が良好な状態で残っている。今回の発掘調査 では、中近世と思われる土器の小破片は出土したものの、調査区の幅が狭いうえ昭和 40 年代 の県道造成の際の攪乱を...
