Note (General): [武蔵国分寺跡関連遺跡要約] 今回の調査地点は、2003年から2008年にかけて東京都埋蔵文化財センターが実施した多摩総合医療センター敷地の調査地点に隣接している。　　調査の結果、検出された遺構は縄文時代の土坑・ピット、中世以降のピットなどであった。遺物は旧石器時代の尖頭器をはじめ、縄文時代の打製石斧が、同一層位から並んで出土しており注目される。　　また、奈良・平安時代に富士山の噴火によって堆積したと考えられる2-1層からは、比較的多くの瓦が出土した。瓦の多くは傷付けられており、畑地の耕作時に金属器などによって付けられたものと推定される。こうした瓦の出土状況を確認できたことは、平安時代の人々の行動および土地利用を復元・考察する上での重要な成果であったといえる。2層の調査に重きを置いた今回の調査は、周辺地域の調査に対する今後の方向性を提起するものとなろう。
