Note (General): [市谷本村町遺跡要約] 遺跡は、幕末には尾張藩徳川家上屋敷のあった場所で、その後陸軍士官学校などに変遷した場所である。遺跡は武蔵野台地東部の淀橋台で、東側と南側が神田川に繋がる旧紅葉川（外堀）と、北側に外堀に繋がる長延寺谷に挟まれた台地上に位置する。　　調査地点は、谷部であったため6ｍを超える深さとなった。江戸時代初めからこの場所を利用するため、数回の埋立てが行われていた痕跡を確認した。上層からは陸軍士官学校に伴う建物基礎や排水施設などが見つかった。江戸時代の遺構は、庭園の池に繋がっていたと考えられる石組溝や、屋敷内を区画した石垣や土手状遺構、屋敷内の道や門の礎石、建物の礎石、火災によるゴミを捨てた焼土溜、土坑などである。石垣や土手状遺構など、いくつかの遺構は、残された屋敷絵図に一致することが確認された。
