Note (General): [東禅寺・黒山遺跡要約] 東禅寺・黒山遺跡は、主として古代から中世にかけて営まれた集落遺跡である。今回の発掘調査でも、隣接する周防鋳銭司の操業時期と符号する10 世紀代を中心とする掘立柱建物が多数検出されたが、中でも床面積50?を超える２棟の大型建物は、その規模と出土遺物から官人の居宅であった可能性も指摘できる。また、土師器杯、皿、金銅製品とともに延喜通寳が副葬された土坑墓は、周防鋳銭司と何らかの関係があった人物の墓と想定できる。さらに、今回の調査では縄文時代草創期の有舌尖頭器が出土しており、周防鋳銭司設置以前の当地域を考えるうえで、貴重な資料を得たと言える。。
