Note (General): [延行条里遺跡（秋根上町１地区・２Ａ地区）要約] 　延行条里遺跡は、下関市街地を流れる綾羅木川周辺域の広範囲に及ぶ古代条里制に関連する遺跡であり、発掘調査地区はその東端の秋根上町地区の低丘陵に位置する。調査地区（秋根上町１地区・２Ａ地区）では、遺跡名の由来となっている古代の条里制に直接関連する遺構は検出されなかったが、縄文・弥生時代以来、この地域での人々の生活が行われていた形跡を示す遺物が見つかるとともに、古墳時代前期の竪穴建物跡・土坑、古代（奈良時代末期〜平安時代）から中世前期（鎌倉時代〜室町時代前期）にかけての掘立柱建物跡群が確認され、この地域において継続的に集落が営まれていたことが明らかになった。　特に、中世前期の13 世紀代を中心にその前後を含む時期には、掘立柱建物跡群とそれを取り囲む溝状遺構の所在、当時の高級品である中国産輸入磁器（青磁・白磁）等の出土状況、古代官衙と関連が深いとされる秋根遺跡の東側周辺に所在するという立地条件等を勘案すると、発掘調査地域は、地域的特性・歴史性を反映したある程度の小規模地域有力者層を含む在地住民の集落跡であったと考えられる。　。
