Note (General): [秋根土塁跡要約] 　秋根土塁跡は下関市南部に所在する幕末の防御施設であり、長府藩の拠点である勝山御殿への外国からの侵攻を防ぐために元治元年（1864）５月７日に構築された。絵図や古写真などからその位置がほぼ特定されるとともに、明治30年までにはほとんどが耕地化によって削平されていることが確認されている。　調査の結果、これまでに推定されていた箇所に土塁および堀を検出し、その位置を確定するとともに、規模が判明した。また、土層観察からは、土塁の構築方法に関わる特徴的な堆積状況を確認した。堀からは、その存続期間中に廃棄されたとみられる陶器蓋・下駄・建築部材が出土し、幕末から明治初頭の生活に関わる遺物が出土した。　下層遺構からは、延行条里遺跡の延長部ともいえる集落等に関わる遺構・遺物を検出した。
